I weave in the woods of Southern Vermont in a converted garden shed that houses a countermarche loom, a jack loom and a host of fiber tools. I love weaving with fine threads like cashmere, silk, yak, merino, and linen to create shawls, scarfs and other wearables with a soft hand and lovely drape.

I also explore 3D abstract sculptural textiles, frequently using horsehair as a medium to create basket and chrysalis shapes, as well as wall hangings incorporating multiple warps linked by chains of horsehair. One piece is currently showing in the Handweavers Guild of America Member Showcase, while another will be part of the Tiny But Mighty exhibition in Norfolk, VA in Fall 2026. 

I came to weaving after a career in academia as a professor in Sociology. My experience in arts-based research has led me to use textiles to explore concepts of inequality and social and personal identity.
